· By-law No. (13) of 2015. By-law of Provisions and Conditions of Exempting Systems of Renewable Energy Sources and its Devices and Equipment and the Energy Efficiency equipment from the Customs Fees and Subjecting them to General Sales Tax in Percentage or Amount of (Zero) according to the Paragraph (C) of Article (11) of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Law No. (13) of 2012. |
· They shall achieve saving not less than (20%) of the ordinary consumption percentage of similar conventional devices and systems that don’t rationalize the energy, according to a certificate issued by a local or foreign competent examination laboratory approved by the Jordanian Standards and Metrology Organization. |

Technical Regulation of IECEE. The regulation makes provision of IECEE certification mandatory in addition to the Certificate of Conformity for the below listed products:
· Mobile phones · Mobile chargers and parts; · Batteries (Mobile Phones, Cars) · Lighting · Water pumps · Electric motors · Dishwashers · Televisions · Laptops
The above listed products need to be registered with SASO. Below are the documents required for the registration:
1. Filled application form 2. Valid CB test certificate & IEC test report 3. Declaration of Conformity from the manufacturer for each product 4. Additional declaration of conformity stating commitment towards Saudi National Standards & product safety for each product. |

· Mandatory Implementation of the ECAS Mark of Conformity on Certified Products. · As per the ESMA Board of Directors Decision Number 78 of 2017 regarding the mandatory labelling of ECAS certified products with the ECAS Mark of Conformity, all certified products shall bear the ECAS Mark of Conformity by end of February 2018. Non-removable stickers of ECAS Mark of Conformity will be allowed for products, which are already in the market until the end of 2018. Printed labels will be required at the beginning of January 2019 for all certified products. |
· Note that market inspections will be carried out in March 2018 to ensure compliance to these regulations for products traded in the UAE Market. Postponed to 1st September 2018 with sticker on packaging required. From 1st January 2019 mark can still be a sticker. 1st January 2020 mark needs to integrated into packaging. |

[1] Pse request the complete requirement for luminaire product HSCCODE 94051098 if needed. The Product is regulated under EG program and should comply to ES 5276 standard. The Certificates of Analysis/Test Reports must cover the details specified in the table below; results shall be within the acceptance limits indicated in the standard/s
[2] On 24 August 2018, the Saudi Arabian Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) updated Annex 1 of the General Rules on Energy Efficiency Technical Regulation to include additional products in scope. All products listed in the Annex must comply with the requirements of the regulation and the related standards mentioned therein. Lighting products were included in the updated Annex and must therefore comply with Standard SASO 2870:2018 (Part1) with immediate effect and with Standard SASO 2902:2018 (Part2) as of 7 December 2018.
