ENFORCEMENT OF SASO RECOGNITION CERTIFICATE FOR SELECTED PRODUCTS
The following is the updated list of products under the scope of “SASO Recognition Certificate” requirements which includes the list of products in the current scope and the updated list with effect from 1st August 2018.
With reference to the above list, smart watches and water pumps (covered under IEC 60335-2-41 and IEC 60335-2-51) have been included in scope of SASO Recognition Certificate requirements with effect from 1st August 2018, while lighting luminaries which were included previously have now been excluded from the scope of SASO Recognition requirements.
Upon arrival of the shipment containing the above products, the KSA Customs/Authorities will verify the availability of the following documents:
– Valid IECEE Test Report issued by a Certified Body Testing Laboratory (CBTL), which is an IECEE approved Lab and a valid CB Certificate issued by a Notified Certification Body (NCB).
– Issuance of Recognition Certificate from SASO
The shipments which do not have the above documents for the products enforced under SASO Recognition scheme will be detained by Customs Authorities in KSA
