The workshop introduced the scope and requirements of Lighting Regulation Part 3 for Street and Road lighting applications, covering the technical requirements of luminaires.
Part 1 covered the products mostly used for residential lighting.
To fill the gap of the remaining lighting products, Lighting Regulation Part 2 was developed in 2017 and will probably enter into force in 2019.
Lighting Part 2 scope includes HID lamps, LEDs, and luminaires. The requirements set by Lighting Regulation Part 2 are valid for residential/commercial use, but are too low for street lighting applications.
The Lighting Regulation Part 3 will provide additional requirements for products used in street lighting as per the below diagram. More details will be provided as and when they become available.
