SASO 2927:2019 which regulates energy efficiency and other aspects of street lighting to be mandatory in Saudi Arabia from 2020.
In line with our communication on this issue we can confirm that Saudi Arabian Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) has adopted Standard SASO 2927:2019 regarding energy efficiency functionality and labelling requirements for lighting products – Part 3 : street lighting. This is the final piece of a regulatory package that covers within its scope all general lighting applications be they residential, commercial or professional.
SASO 2927:2019 covers requirements for street and road lighting applications:
- Classification of street/road lighting
- This standard covers three types of lighting classification (M, C and P)
- Tunnel lighting
- This standard covers daylight and nightlight for tunnels
- Technical requirements of lighting products.
