The final version of the UAE’s outdoor lighting regulation formally known as Cabinet Decision 25 of 2022 was released to the public recently.
MELA confirms that the regulation was officially Published on 15th April 2022, after a two year consultation with the Emirates Standards & Metrology Authority.

Article (15)
- The supplier, as the case may be, shall register the product with the Ministry in the Emirates Conformity Assessment System (ECAS). Within a period not exceeding (180) one hundred and eighty days from the date of publishing this decision in the Official Gazette, for a product that has entered any stage of the supply chain and has not been offered in the local market before the issuance of this decision
- The supplier shall be given a period of no more than one year from the date of publishing this decision in the Official Gazette, to reconcile the conditions of the product offered in the market prior to its issuance. 3. All the relevant authorities existing at the time of this resolution’s enforcement shall adjust their positions in accordance with its provisions within (180) one hundred and eighty days from the date of its enforcement
Article (17)
This decision shall be published in the Official Gazette, and shall come into force on the day following the date of its publication.
